Brie Larson Gushes Over Her Captain Marvel Casting

  • -

We’re fortunate enough to have a handful of big-time Marvel Cinematic Universe movies on the way this year and next — movies along the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 and Avengers: Infinity War — yet one of the most-anticipated movies on the Marvel slate drops doesn't drop until 2019.  You know, the movie to feature fan-favorite character Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel.

Fans aren’t the only ones excited to see Colonel Danvers in live action form, actress Brie Larson — who plays the titular character in 2019’s Captain Marvel — recently spoke with SciFiNow to offer a little insight into her role in the MCU.

“Being a Marvel family member now, it’s still really surreal,” Larson reflected “I still can’t believe it to be honest, so very ‘pinch me.’”

Outside of Larson’s excitement for the role, we know next to nothing about the upcoming movie. Nicole Perlman — who wrote Guardians of the Galaxy alongside James Gunn and currently writes Gamora for Marvel Comics — has been tabbed to pen the script for Captain Marvel. The movie remains without a director.
