As seen in Secret Empire #2, the heroes have splintered into multiple factions. One group, in particular, might just have the most important mission of all, and it requires heading to the Savage Land.
Their task will be revealed in a special tie-in chapter to Marvel's big event called Secret Empire: Underground. The book is being written by Jeremy Whitley, who took some time to describe what his pivotal chapter of the Secret Empire saga will feel like.
I think "Secret Empire: Underground" is as close to a classic and fun Marvel comic as you can get. It's about a ragtag team of heroes, with the odds stacked against them and the fate of the world on their shoulders, walking into the most dangerous place in the world and fighting dinosaurs. At the heart of it all is one of the most despicable villains in the Marvel Universe, Sauron, and if they don't make some sort of deal with this dinosaur devil (HA!) they're not going to be able to save the world.

At the center of Underground is a group that consists of Hercules, Ant-Man, Falcon, Quicksilver, and IronMan (A.I. Tony), and Mockingbird, who will be leading the team into unfamiliar territory.
"I think it says a lot about these characters and their heroic qualities that when Tony Stark says "We need a team of people to go into the Savage Land and make a deal with an evil dinosaur man", they jump at the chance. Hercules, of course, is a good fit for this kind of mission, but Mockingbird is just a dangerous woman in a cool suit with sticks. Sure, fighting Hydra is in her wheelhouse, but going head to head with a T-Rex? That's a woman with guts."
Whitley is joined by artist Eric Koda, and he couldn't be happier with the book they're creating. That goes 10 fold for Koda's rendition of Mockingbird.
"Eric Koda has been a dream to work with on this book. This is a fun and often funny set of characters who have volunteered for a suicide mission. Eric has to deliver on both the action and the emotion and every beat of the story is pitch perfect. And honestly, I can't say enough about how awesome his Mockingbird looks in this comic. As a big Mockingbird fan, I love to see her as a woman who looks like she can handle anything that's thrown at her. She's rarely put in the leadership position on Avengers teams, but when you see her leading this team, there's no question she belongs there."

Can Mockingbird and her team find the cracks in Hydra's hold to bring it all crumbling down? Or will their plan cause Hydra to grow back even stronger than before? Be here this June as the resistance fights back SECRET EMPIRE: UNDERGROUND from Jeremy Whitley, Eric Koda, and Marvel Comics.
