The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of Hollywood's biggest tickets right now, and its stars are clearly feeling love from fans. Talent like Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson have been riding the Marvel wave for years now, but newcomers like Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal are still getting used to the attention. To help one another out, the acting buddies have stayed close since they nabbed their gigs. And, now, Holland just gave one ripped shoutout to his former Pilgrimage co-star.
Taking to Instagram, Holland posted a photo of himself earlier today which shows off his guns. The buff actor can be seen flexing his muscular arms in a tank feature The Punisher logo.
"Representing @jonnybernthal! Miss you dawg," Holland captioned the photo.
For those of you who don't know, Holland and Bernthal go way back beyond just the MCU. The pair previously starred in the film Pilgrimage with one another. It was during the movie's production that both actors were up for Marvel roles, and the pair helped each other out with their auditions.
In a past interview with Variety, Bernthal revealed about how he worked with Holland to help the younger actor with his Spider-Man gig.
"I can't say enough good things about Tom," he started. "He's got strength and talent and fortitude that's not only remarkable for someone his age, but for someone period."
"We were all part of him nailing and tracking down the Spider-Man role. We got to see his determination. I've never seen anything like that — how hard he fought for it — and that's how he approaches his work everyday."
In return, Holland helped out Bernthal with his taped auditions for Frank Castle, AKA Punisher. "They use mock scenes, but it was a man telling this young boy about shooting a deer — describing the moment of killing a deer, I believe," Bernthal said, describing the scene which he filmed with Holland. "We had to play that the deer was there and I see him getting ready to kill it. He was off camera and we were like, 'get in here and do it with me.'"
