If there's one thing that everyone can agree on, it's that Baby Groot's dance to open up Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 totally stole the show. What you may not know however, is that director James Gunn's dance moves helped inspire the scene.
As Guardians Vol. 2 began, most of the team fought the giant Abilisk. Since he couldn't exactly fight alongside everyone else, Groot danced around the entire battle to 'Mr. Blue Sky'. The camera followed the little tree on the entire adventure.
Audiences loved the scene, and the charm of Baby Groot, but the dance moves weren't all his own.
Gunn shared a video on Instagram, in honor of the film passing $800 million at the box office, revealing his dance that helped bring Groot's to life. You can watch both dance side-by-side, and it looks like the dance stayed pretty true to the original.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (Spectre) as Drax; Vin Diesel (Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin.
