Dozens of actors have had the chance to play superheroes in Hollywood, but few get the chance to suit up in real life. Recently, Lou Ferrigno stepped up to save one fan at a Comic Con in Tennesseee, and fans are praising The Incredible Hulk for his heroic actions.

As reported by Knoxville News Sentinel, Ferrigno turned into a real-life superhero when he met a pair of fans at the Fanboy Expo Comic Con. The actor greeted Frank McAlister and his son Ted as the two attended the event. The latter, who happens to be a massive fan of Ferrigno, had been looking forward to meet the Hulk star.

"He's a big G.I. Joe Fan, and he's a big Lou Ferrigno fan too," Frank told press during an interview. "He has all the Incredible Hulk DVD's, and he was having a great day, meeting everybody he wanted to meet."

However, things didn't go as expected when Ted had a chance to meet Ferrigno. The pair were able to take a photo, but the actor noticed something was wrong with Ted's speech. The fan has a long history of seizures due to epilepsy, and Frank said he quickly realized his son was having a seizure.

Before Ted could fall to the floor, Ferrigno grabbed hold of the fan and cleared the area around him. Frank says paramedics quickly responded to the emergency, but Ferrigno stayed by his son "the whole time" to make sure everything was taken care of.

Frank went to social media to praise Ferrigno for his quick-thinking, and fans have rallied behind the actor. The Hulk star admits he was able to stay calm during the situation since he volunteers as a sheriff's deputy when he's not doing work for his Marvel role.

"I ran to grab him and make sure he wouldn't injure himself and his father immediately said it was a seizure," Ferrigno explained. "I'm glad he sat down and we got a support on his head and got the paramedics in right away and kept him calm. I told him, 'Come on back later and take another picture.' Thank God he was okay."

After meeting with EMTs, Ted was able to return to the convention and snap another photo with Ferrigno. Frank says his son is doing well and now recovering from his recent seizure.
