With Ant-Man and the Wasp being the next Marvel Studios film to enter production, details about the film's star-studded cast were revealed during last weekend's San Diego Comic-Con. One of the most surprising reveals was the Michelle Pfeiffer will be entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing the original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne.
The news was met with pleasant surprise across much of social media - including, as it turns out, from Pfeiffer's onscreen daughter, Evangeline Lilly.

Pfeiffer is no stranger to the comic book film genre, previously appearing as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Batman Returns. Still, the official onscreen appearance of Janet - who was only seen in the Wasp suit during a flashback in the first Ant-Man film - has been anticipated for quite some time.
Pfeiffer being cast in the role - and Lilly's excitement towards her "new mom", possibly indicates that Janet will have a significant role in the film. But more will be revealed when Ant-Man and the Wasp
