Marvel Studios' upcoming Avengers: Infinity War is inspiring a lot of fan art from impressive fan-made movie posters to this lovely piece by Carrillo Art Studios featuring dozens of characters fighting.

Depicting the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in battle with Thanos (Josh Brolin), the comic book-inspired pencil-drawn piece is an homage to Marvel Comics' 1992 six-issue limited series The Infinity War. That, of course, being the sequel to 1991's Infinity Gauntlet, and the biggest inspiration for the Avengers three-quel.

The fan art assembles Captain America (Chris Evans), Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Drax (Dave Bautista), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Vision (Paul Bethany), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Giant-Man (Paul Rudd), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Bucky (Sebastian Stan), Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson), and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) in all-out-war against Thanos (Brolin).

Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, and Wasp more resemble their comic book counterparts than they do their Marvel Cinematic Universe iterations, but the latter two heroines won't be in the fray — it's confirmed that Larson's Captain Marvel won't take part in Infinity War, nor will Wasp, who can be seen taking a shot at Thanos beneath his webbed right hand. (For all the characters taking part in Infinity War, see our handy guide.) Groot has also been confirmed to be in his adolescent stage when we see him next in Infinity War, whereas the art depicts Groot more as he appears in the first Guardians of the Galaxy. Still, it's a handsome piece of art, and is exactly what most fans have in mind when the heroes of the Marvel universe clash with their greatest threat yet.

Avengers: Infinity War opens May 4, 2018.
