Ant-Man and the Wasp is finally underway in Atlanta, and fans are already expecting big things from the film - literally. Thanks to a new set video, fans are thinking the sequel will feature several intense Giant-Man sequences.
The folks over at MCU Exchange caught wind of a set video showing some intense vehicular damage. The clip itself shows a car getting tossed off a street before it rolls down a side-path and hits a few cars. The black SUV looks like a vehicle any bad guy would be happy to drive, and fans think the sequence is directly tied to Ant-Man.
As the site notes, fans learned Giant-Man would be involved with the Ant-Man sequel someway. A sizzle reel of Ant-Man and the Wasp has been touted around at various conventions, and the footage featured a piece of intriguing concept art. Giant-Man was sketched kicking a car off a curb. A second piece of artwork was shown that had a van toppled to its side after Ant-Man shrinks and expands another car underneath it. Given the footage’s lack of explosions, netizens feel fairly sure the sequence has less of a bang and more of kick to it.
Of course, fans have known for a bit that Giant-Man would return in the sequel. The character debuted in the MCU with Captain America: Civil War, and Peyton Reed will bring the massive hero back to the screen. ComicBook’s Brandon Davis had the character’s comeback confirmed to him back in April when the director affirmed Giant-Man’s return during a press event.
Reed has said before he was bummed another film got to introduced Giant-Man before he could, so it is nice to see the director get a stab at the character. There’s no telling how much Scott Lang will size up in the film, but fans are hoping the hero gets a better grip on the transformation this time around. The hero was outspoken about Giant-Man’s pitfall when he last whipped the form out, so Hope Van Dyne hopefully trained Scott to be better prepared for the vertigo-inducing change.
