A Guardians of the Galaxy favorite made their way to Saturday Night Live this week - but not in the way you'd expect.
Last night's episode, which was hosted by The Big Sick and Silicon Valley's Kumail Nanjiani, featured a sketch called 'Office Halloween Party.' As the name would suggest, the sketch featured a wide variety of Halloween costumes - including Nanjiani dressed as Guardians' Groot. You can check out the sketch above.
The sketch pokes fun at the Groot costume a bit, with Nanjiani trying (and failing) to say the "I Am Groot" catchphrase to a coworker over the phone. The sketch soon takes a dark turn, with the coworker delivering a rather gross bombshell.
This is the latest time that Guardians of the Galaxy has been referenced on SNL, as Chris Pratt made plenty of jokes about the Marvel film when he hosted back in 2014. (Nanjiani also referenced Pratt in his opening monologue, poking fun at the negative responses to The Big Sick.)
In recent weeks, SNL has made plenty of references that have made the geek world happy. Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot hosted the previous episode, and paid homage to her DC Films character in her opening monologue, as well as a buzzworthy 'Themysica' sketch.
