'Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman Reveals Why He Hasn't Kept A Suit

Many actors like to take home souvenirs from the set of their movies or TV shows, especially when they're playing iconic superheroes. And while you might think Chadwick Boseman has his own replica of the Black Panther costume, he does not have that luxury.

In fact, he doesn't even want it.

While speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live ahead of the world premiere of Black Panther, Boseman revealed that he did not keep a version of the suit from the set of the movie.

"No, I wouldn't even want it," said Boseman, "because Marvel is so tight with their secrets. I wouldn't want someone to come in a steal it from me."

Interesting, it sounds like there are some mysteries to be solved if one were to get their hands on the suit. No wonder Klaue is always trying to get his hands on some Vibranium.

Boseman spoke with Kimmel about various other topics, as you can see in the video above. They discussed promoting the film in South Korea for the Winter Olympics, Boseman being honored as the Most Popular American Actor in China at the Chinese American Film Festival, and Boseman's secretive screening process.

Black Panther received heaps of praise from those lucky enough to attend screenings. Everything from Boseman's role as T'Challa to Michael B. Jordan's MCU debut as Erik Killmonger has been lauded by fans.

Fans caught a glimpse of one of the movie's fight scenes between the Black Panther and Killmonger in the Vibranium mines of Wakanda during Boseman's appearance on the show, and you can watch that scene here.

Black Panther producer Nate Moore spoke about the film's influences and how it plays into Killmonger's motivations, teasing at the character's devious plan.

"The interesting comparison we've been making, and this is going to sound crazy, but we've always thought of the Black Panther as a James Bond kind of movie, right?" Moore said during the Black Panther set visit. "This big, globetrotting epic, but in talking with Ryan Coogler, the director, one of the things that he also liked was this sort of Godfather kind of storytelling.

"When I say Godfather it's the idea that, it's very much a story about family and a story about an organization where new leadership is taking place. Much like The Godfather, you have the five families, right? They're all vying for power, and in this case, it's power over Wakanda. I think Killmonger sees Wakanda as something that could be used differently than it currently is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that puts him directly at odds with T'Challa."

Black Panther premieres February 16th.
