After plenty of rumors and speculation, The Dark Tower is finally set to hit theaters this year. We know that the first trailer is coming on Wednesday, but Sony wanted to give everyone a little taste of the film before that.
The teaser for the first trailer was released on Matthew McConaughey's Twitter account this morning.
McConaughey and Idris Elba, the two opposing forces in the film, went into a cryptic Twitter battle on Tuesday morning. It started when McConaughey asked Elba if he wanted The Tower, and the two exchanged ominous lines from the movie after that.
This culminated in the 15-second teaser being released on McConaughey's account, with the message that the full trailer would be released at 9am PT on Wednesday.
Idris Elba came back with a teaser video of his own. Each of the two characters has a teaser that is unique to them, and fans are eager to see them go to battle in tomorrow's trailer.
The movie is finally scheduled to premiere in theaters August 4.
