Ghost In The Shell Arrives On Blu-ray In Many Different Flavors

If you thought that the live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell was better than its box office returns indicated, you might want to pick the movie up on Blu-ray. Well, today is the day to do that. In fact, you have several options with exclusive content depending on where you purchase the movie. Let's break it down:

Walmart's exclusive edition comes with a bonus digital HD of Aeon Flux.
Best Buy's exclusive edition comes in collectible steelbook packaging.
Target's exclusive edition comes with exclusive art and a bonus disc (in store only).

Currently we don't have all of the details on each special edition, but the extra stuff doesn't appear to come with an extra cost over the standard editions on Amazon. Ghost in the Shell is available on Digital, DVD, Blu-ray, 3D and, of course, 4K Ultra HD.

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, Ghost in the Shell follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic's advancements in cyber technology.

In the near future, Major (Scarlett Johansson) is the first of her kind: A human saved from a terrible crash, who is cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world's most dangerous criminals. When terrorism reaches a new level that includes the ability to hack into people's minds and control them, Major is uniquely qualified to stop it. As she prepares to face a new enemy, Major discovers that she has been lied to: her life was not saved, it was stolen. She will stop at nothing to recover her past, find out who did this to her and stop them before they do it to others.
