You don't have to look far on the Internet to find speculation about Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But since the film's December premiere is still quite a ways away, Laura Dern is here to tell fans what not to expect in the film.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dern - who plays Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo in The Last Jedi - was asked to divulge a series of fake spoilers for the film. Check them out in the video below.
Dern's false spoilers range from humorous - such as Luke's first words to Rey's lightsaber being "Nah, I'm good" - to outright ridiculous, such as the film's opening crawl being made out of emojis. Along the way, Dern makes a pretty great X-Wing joke, ties Kylo Ren to the Nickelodeon cartoon Ren and Stimpy, and campaigns for a Wookie-themed cooking show.
Dern's comments, obviously, don't reveal much about The Last Jedi's plot. But fans of both Star Wars and Dern still have plenty to be excited about, from the hints about her character from Rian Johnson, to Dern's retelling of her surreal first day on The Last Jedi's set.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15th, 2017.
