While Yondu's funeral scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 pulled on many audience members' heartstrings, it had an entirely different effect on Michael Rooker.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Movies, Rooker revealed that he remembers very little of the scene - because he fell asleep during the filming of the pivitol Vol. 2 scene.
"I don't remember anything about [that scene]." Rooker revealed. "The funeral, as I go into the fire, they put a little thing over my eyes. And by the time they put the thing over my eyes, I was out."
This apparently proved to be a bit of a distraction for some of his Vol. 2 co-stars, despite what Rooker recalls from the experience.
"There was a few times that they say I snored." Rooker added. "I don't remember snoring."
But Karen Gillan, who played Nebula in the film, had a different side to the story.
"I was on the other side of the room," Gillan pointed out, "and I heard you."
Regardless of whether or not Rooker snored on set, the funeral scene ended up making a huge impact. According to the film's writer and director, James Gunn, his initial decision to kill off Yondu proved to be personally heartbreaking. Many Vol. 2 viewers have expressed their emotion towards the end scene, including Kevin Smith.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is now available on Digital HD, DVD, and Blu-Ray.
