Sebastian Stan still hasn't seen the script for the upcoming Avengers 4 now filming in Atlanta, but the actor isn't worried about how the movie will treat his character.
In an interview with CinemaBlend, Stan, who is supposed to report to set next month, revealed that he wasn't bothered by the MCU norm of not getting a script in order to prevent leaks because he has faith that whatever happens with his character Bucky Barnes will be right not just for him, but for the story.
"I don't worry about the character," Stan said. "No matter what they decide, they're going to do the right thing ... I have ownership over the character, but it's not up to me to decide what happens. But you know, those guys are going to take it to another level. That's just what they are going to do. And it's a culmination of so many things up until this point, which is why they can."
The last time we saw the Winter Soldier was in a mid-credits scene at the end of Captain America: Civil War where, after being granted asylum in Wakanda, Barnes is placed into cryogenic sleep until his brainwashing can be reversed. However, fans should be careful not to get too excited that Steve Rogers' best friend is returning to the action. Marvel Studios has a history of bringing actors onto set even if they aren't needed just to throw off speculation as it did with Michael Rooker. Rooker was seen on the Avengers: Infinity War set after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 wrapped though fans later discovered that Yondu didn't survive that film.
And even if Barnes does end up a part of the action there is no telling what the world looks like for the heroes after dealing with Thanos when he arrives on Earth in Avengers: Infinity War.
