DC fans have been curious to see what Joss Whedon's Justice League ends up looking like, and evidently, a lucky few already have.
A number of social media posts revealed that Warner Bros. aired an assembly cut screening of Justice League to a selection of employees. None of the viewers gave anything away in regards to plot, cameos, or possible changes from previous versions of the film, though there was one reaction of note from a friend of a friend.
That amounted to an "Ehhhh...it's....fine?" -- so make of that what you will. Another viewer posted an excited emoji after seeing it, but that is the extent of reactions at this point.
It's actually rather surprising to see a cut of the film this early. There's been a fair amount of change on Justice League, including in the director's chair. Whedon came in to take over for Zack Snyder after he suffered a personal tragedy, but the film still needed some additional work. Warner Bros. proceeded with some significant reshoots for the film, which are an ordinary part of most films in production, though the rumors around League point to more substantial changes.

The more prevalent rumors have to do with more scenes involving Steppenwolf. It is thought that in previous versions of the film the character was underserved, but more as a prelude to Darkseid than a true adversary for the League. If Whedon is adding scenes to the film, it is thought to be snippets in the past that give Steppenwolf some sort of credibility in comparison to the heroes he's facing.
That leads directly into the rumored ending change. The previous ending was rumored to be a cliffhanger that left off with Darkseid arriving right before the credits rolled, with the actual confrontation between the League and Darkseid occurring in Justice League 2. The new ending will aim to change that and become a self-contained ending, though it will still likely tease Darkseid in some way.
For all of the change behind the scenes, the footage shown thus far has impressed many with frantic action and a lighter banter-heavy tone. Those are all changes many wanted to see from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it looks like Justice League might just deliver.
Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
