Here's What's Coming in 'Kingsman 3'
Kingsman: The Golden Circle was a transformative chapter of the franchise, to say the least. After [...]
Already In The Plans
There's no official script ready yet for Kingsman 3, put director Matthew Vaughn was already teasing the threequel before The Golden Circle was ever in theaters. During an interview back in May, Vaughn said:
"Weirdly while we were writing Kingsman 2, we were thinking of Kingsman 3 as well, which is odd. We've got a big idea for that. This is sort of the bridge and if we can pull this off, we'll make another one."
In a more recent interview with Cinemablend, Vaughn dropped more spoilery teases for Kingsman 3, stating:
"The end of this movie, if you think about it: you have Eggsy's definitely going to go on a new journey. Galahad, or Harry Hart's going on a new journey. Tequila's going on a new journey. Jeff's (Bridges) going on a new journey, Halle (Berry), the new agent Whiskey, is. The next movie is what happens to these characters. They're definitely not going to be doing what you've seen them do before."
On the actor side, Golden Circle stars like Jeff Bridges and Colin Firth are already set for the third go-round. As the pair of actors told us a the press junket for The Golden Circle:
"We're working on it," said Bridges. "Between interviews, we're jamming on ideas. There's no script but Matthew [Vaughn]'s been talking about it from the beginning! [Colin] You said he's always envisioned it as a trilogy."
"I remember very early conversations with Matthew," said Firth. "He felt that three [movies] would be right for this. He hadn't got them mapped out, I just think he could feel three."
What We Want to See in Kingsman 3
We've already broken down the list of stars we want in Kingsman 3, but there are some other important story and character elements we'd love to see shifted around, as well:
More Statesman: The Golden Circle promotional campaign made the most of having big stars like Channing Tatum and Halle Berry in the roster, but the actual movie didn't do all that much with them. Now that the Kingsman and Statesman are officially one unit, we want to see the latter organization in full-blown action.
Scary Villain: Kingsman has made the inclusion of larger-than-life villains one its staples, and thanks to actors like Samuel L. Jackson and Julianne Moore, they've been pretty entertaining psychos. However, in the next Kingsman movie, we want to see a villain that's not just funny, but scary as well. If The Joker can be both, then Kingsman can come up with something similar.
Evil Kingsman: So far, the Kingsman have put their organizational resources to battling singular villains, each with a high-tech henchman or woman, and a lot of disposable soldiers. In Kingsman 3, we want to see both the Kingsman and Statesman battling an entire organization that's on their level -- a rogue version of their agencies, whose espionage and action skill sets would make for an exciting and surprising trilogy ending.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is now in theaters. Be sure to rate the movie for yourself, below, and also check out our official review.
