The granddaughter of Wonder Woman creator William Mouton Marston may have denounced Professor Marston and the Wonder Women and its director Angela Robinson, but Christie Marston has high praise for Wonder Woman's Patty Jenkins

In an interview with BigFanBoy, Marston spoke out about how Robinson's Professor Marston and the Wonder Women doesn't reflect the real story about her family and the creation of Wonder Woman. Marston in particular pointed out that Robinson had chosen not to speak with the Marston family, but when it came to Wonder Woman director Jenkins, Marston had a far different reaction.

Marston said that not only was Wonder Woman one of the best things that had happened to the character, but that Jenkins had a good understanding of the iconic heroine.

"The Wonder Woman movie is the best thing that has happened to Wonder Woman since Lynda Carter brought her to life (as characterized in the original comics) back in the 1970s!" Marston said. "Patty Jenkins not only understands Wonder Woman, but astounded me with her directing skills. Wonder Woman has ethics again!"

Getting the stamp of approval from Marston is just the latest accolade for Jenkins, who has been praised by Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, Hillary Clinton, and has even garnered Oscar buzz for her work on the film. The film itself has been a massive success for Warner Bros. and the DCEU, bringing in over $820 million at the box office, making it one of the most successful films this year.

And while Marston is happy about Jenkins' success with Wonder Woman, she is concerned about how it appears that Professor Marston and the Wonder Women is trying to capitalize that success with a misleading marketing campaign.

"This film has no relationship to Wonder Woman, other than using the name to sell to the public," Marston said. "They are riding the coattails of the very (rightfully!) successful Wonder Woman movie -- even to the point of copying the promo posters."

Even with the controversy surrounding Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, at least Marston and fans of the Amazon princess have more of Patty Jenkins' take on the heroine to look forward to. Jenkins will direct Wonder Woman 2 which is set to hit theaters December 13, 2019.
