The Rock is one of Hollywood's biggest draws at the moment, and a new pitch from writer Rawson Marshall Thurber and Producer Beau Flynn could further add to the actors creditability.

The pitch is being described by sources as Die Hard in China (according to Deadline), and would feature a one man against the world type premise set in the Middle Kingdom. The as of yet untitled film is coveted by multiple studios, including Legendary, Universal, Paramount, Sony, and New Line. Universal and Legendary are offering close to seven figures for the flick but don't count out Sony, Paramount, and New Line. Sources are saying that a deal should be completed by Memorial Day, most likely by tomorrow.

In an era where a few flops in a row can sink even the biggest studio, it makes sense that studios would shell out more when the right project comes along, and there are few surer bets right now than The Rock in an action film. It helps that Thurber and Johnson just recently completed his newest film Central Intelligence, the CIA buddy comedy that pairs Johnson with Kevin Hart. Johnson has also worked with Beau Flynn on two of his previous projects, Hercules, and San Andreas, and are working together on his upcoming Baywatch Reboot.

Regardless of where the movie lands, Johnson is keeping busy. He's currently filming Baywatch, and then will move to Fast and Furious 8, followed by the most surprising project on his slate, the upcoming remake of Jumanji.
