Tyrese Gibson has confirmed that he will return for the next installment of Michael Bay's Transformers movie series, Transformers: The Last Night. Gibson will also appear in next year's Fast 8.

"Let's just say 2017, summertime, it's going to be a lot of energy out there in the universe: Fast 8, Transformers 5," Gibson told Entertainment Tonight. He also released a photo of himself with Bay confirmed that his character, Robert Epps, will appear in Transformers: The Last Knight.

Mark Wahlberg will also return as Cade Yeager from Transformers: Ager of Extinction. Isabela Moner joins the cast as streetwise tomboy Izabella, who befriends the tiny Transformers named Sqweeks. Josh Duhamel also returns as Epps' former commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel William Lennox. The remaining human cast includes Jerrod Carmichael, Anthony Hopkins, Mitch Pileggi and Laura Haddock

Peter Cullen will return to voice Autobot leader Optimus Prime. Megatron will return as well, now inhabiting the Galvatron body created in Transformers: Age of Extinction. Other confirmed Transformers appearing in The Last Knight include Autobots Bumblebee and Crosshairs, and Decepticon Barricade.

Bay will direct Transformers: The Last Knight from a script written by Art Marcum, Matt Halloway, and Ken Nolan. The franchise is based on Hasbro's Transformers toy and animation line.
