He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is coming back for one more adventure. The first new episode of the cult favorite 1980s animated series produced in 30 years will air at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.

The original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe aired from 1983 through 1985. The series spawned a spinoff, She-Ra: Princess of Power, and a 1990s revival, The New Adventures of He-Man, and a full-on reboot at Cartoon Network in 2002. Set on the planet Eternia, the series saw He-Man and his allies battling Skeletor and his nefarious minions.

The concept was adapted into a live-action film, Masters of the Universe, in 1987. Dolph Lundgren starred as He-Man and Frank Langella opposed him as Skeletor in the Gary Goddard directed feature. The film was considered both a critical and commercial failure, but McG is getting ready to give it another try. Kellan Lutz is rumored to be in consideration for the lead role.

The new episode, produced by Super7, is titled "The Curse of the Three Terrors." The episode will air Wednesday, July 20 at 10 p.m. at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.

DC Comics has been publishing new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe comics since 2012, beginning with the Masters of the Universe digital first comic series. Since then, there have been a He-Man and the Masters of the Universe print miniseries, followed by an ongoing series and a DC Universe vs. Master of the Universe event series. He-Man will next cross paths with fellow animated icons of the 1980s, ThunderCats, in DC Comics' crossover event He-Man/ThunderCats.
