The Power Rangers are a well-oiled machine these days, but as the latest issue demonstrates, that wasn't always the case.
Fans get an up-close look at that machine still working out the kinks in issue #4 of Saban's Go Go Power Rangers, as the team attempts to stop Rita's latest monstrosity while not exposing their secret identities. In the old days, they just used to find a spot by the lockers that was always somehow unoccupied, but things aren't that simple anymore.
As you can see in the preview, Kimberly is trying to keep her boyfriend Matt safe, which is harder to do when you can't tell him you're a Ranger. Kimberly actually gets even more, focus in issue #4, as fans are introduced to her before becoming a Ranger, and it's not the best first impression.
While Kimberly gets a fair share of the spotlight, there's still plenty of space left for Jason and Zack, who each have their own issues with this whole double life thing. That's not even counting the actual monster, who is trying to outdo the Rangers in that whole destroying the city thing.
Seriously, the Megazord might as well just be called the Wrecking Ball. Probably costs a fortune to insure.
Go Go Power Rangers focuses on the relationships and personal struggles of the Rangers, something writer Ryan Parrott highlighted at New York Comic Con in his comparison to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers by Kyle Higgins.
"Mighty Morphin is the action, super hero one and Go-Go is more the "Day 1" where they have to deal with homework and girl problems and other things about their history and we can fill them out and show them develop even more," Parrott said.
