Donald Glover is easily one the most multi-talented young actors today. So when fans heard the news that he was officially cast as the younger version of Lando Calrissian in the upoming Han Solo: A Star Wars Story spinoff movie, we instantly agreed with this perfect decision.

Not only is Glover currently writing, producing, and starring in his new ground-breaking series Atlanta on FX, but we'll also see his face in Marvel's upcoming movie Spider-Man: Homecoming alongside the newest webslinger, Tom Holland.

The incredibly talented actor, director, writer, comedian, and rapper joined Ellen for the first time to chat about everything from his critically acclaimed series, "Atlanta," to his role in the upcoming "Star Wars" film.

On Ellen, Glover spoke about playing Lando for the first time since the news was announced and how he's incredibly honored to be chosen take on such an iconic character.

He also revealed that his very first toy as a child was a Lando action figure, and that he's aways been a huge Star Wars fan. When he told his parents the big news, his mother said, "Don't mess this up!"

Ellen brings up the fact that any role Glover wants, he usually gets. For both Han Solo and Spider-Man he said he wanted to be in the movies before casting had even started an BOOM - Glover got the parts.

As for whether or not Glover would be a good fit for the role, ComicBook.com's Star Wars expert Lucas Seigel weighed in.

"I've been a fan of Glover since the launch of his mega-career with Community," says Seigel. "I remember seeing him do standup to a small New York club with an audience of about 60 people. He has the swagger, humor, approachability, and the sense that he's just a genuine person that could get up to no good at a moment's notice – all the major aspects that Billy Dee Williams brought to Lando Calrissian in the original Star Wars trilogy. Throw in his respect for the source material and his vocal and public love of all things nerd culture, and it's easy to see why fans have already rallied around Donald Glover as a great fit for young Lando."

This guy has come a long way since we met him in his first feature-length film, The Mystery Team in 2009. His hip-hop albums under the name Childish Gambino were both celebrated releases in the music industry and fans absolutely loved his time on Community.

It's safe to say, that whatever projects Glover is involved with will be nothing short of amazing. So, we have no worries about his ability to channel a younger version of Lando. He's on FIRE!

Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to release in 2018.
