Starring in a movie like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, fast approaching a billion dollars means actress Felicity Jones is kicking off 2017 right. Continuing to ride that way, she'll be hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend, and before anyone could ask, yes, of course there will be something Star Wars related, are you crazy?
In fact, she didn't wait to the show to invoke the galaxy far, far away. Instead, it came right in her first promo, and it came with a pun worthy of the dark lord Darth Vader himself. In it, she's rehearsing her opening monologue, specifically on the opening lines.

"Hi, I'm Felicity Jones, and it is great to be here hosting Saturday Night Live!" she says, then she looks down, addressing about twenty stormtroopers, asking them how she did. They shrug, and she says, "Thanks, guys, you're a real bunch of troopers."
Get it? Because they're being "troopers," a colloquialism for someone who carries on despite hardship, and they're also in stormtrooper armor. Get it now? GET IT?
Well, the troopers got it, but they dismissed it as "cheesy" with groans and head smacks. "Maybe we lose that one," Jones says at the end.
Felicity Jones hosts Saturday Night Live January 14, 2017 with musical guest Sturgill Simpson.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in theaters now. Directed by Gareth Edwards, it's the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core "Skywalker Saga" of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue One tells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star. The story spins directly off the opening crawl from the original Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. In that crawl, it read: "Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet."
