Star Wars Rebels recently wrapped up its third season with a battle between Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Imperial forces and the fledgling rebellion of the Phoenix Squadron. Though Thrawn’s crew did not succeed in their mission of wiping out the Ghost Crew and their allies, they did deal them a heavy blow before both sides retreated.
The season finale gave a climactic end to the season while putting a lot of pieces in place for Rebels' fourth year. But in looking back at what took place leading up to Thrawn and Hera Syndulla tactical battle, there were a ton of important moments that helped build to their fateful encounter.
Rebels’ third season consisted of big and small moments that helped push the Star Wars universe forward while providing some big payoffs for fans of the series.
And now Lucasfilm recently released a video from the people behind the scenes who make the show possible where they discuss their favorite moments while teasing at what’s to come.
Whether it was Ezra and Kanan’s relationship growing, Thrawn’s debut, Bendu’s introduction, Sabine’s acceptance of her legacy, or even that final meeting between Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi, there are enough to choose from that picking just one would be a tough decision to make.
And after they discuss those favorite moments, the team also gives some choice hints about what’s to come.
Executive producer Dave Filoni mentioned that Saw Gerrera and Mon Mothma’s relationship would continue to be showcased in the fourth season, hinting that we’d see how it all breaks down.
Filoni also hinted that many characters from the Clone Wars series would continue to have an impact and be featured in Rebels, saying that he’s going to finish their narratives as he intended to in the show’s predecessor.
They also hinted that the liberation of Lothal and the fall of Mandalore would come eventually, saying that those are both important aspects of the series.
We’ll find out more when Star Wars Rebels returns later this year.

This animated entry in the "Star Wars" franchise fills the gap between the events of "Episode III" and "Episode IV." Imperial forces occupy a remote planet and are ruling -- and ruining -- its inhabitants' lives with an iron fist. A clever, disparate crew aboard the starship Ghost takes a stand against the Empire, facing new villains and colorful adversaries. The rebels on the Ghost include leader Kanan, ace pilot Hera, feisty heroine Sabine, tough guy Zeb and 14-year-old con artist Ezra.
Star Wars Rebels airs Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on Disney XD, and follows the adventures of Hera (Vanessa Marshall), Sabine (Tiya Sircar), Zeb (Steve Blum), and the Jedi Kanan (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) and Ezra (Taylor Gray), a small crew that's finding their way in the nascent Rebel Alliance a few years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.
Executive produced by Simon Kinberg and Dave Filoni, the in-canon series helps to connect the worlds of the films and the previous animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, with guest appearances so far by characters like Lando Calrissian, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Leia Organa, Wedge Antilles, and more.
