Star Wars: The Blueprints has an interesting history. The book was originally released in 2011 in a limited edition batch of 5,000 hand-numbered copies. Those books quickly sold, and currently fetch prices as high as $800 from resellers. A standard edition of the book was released in 2013 at a more affordable price, but that edition also went out of print several years ago. If you missed getting a copy the first time around, you're about to get another chance without having to resort to eBay.

Star Wars: The Blueprints is coming back to print in hardcover and is available to pre-order now with a ship date slated for September 5th.

It's the kind of coffee table book every huge Star Wars fan should own. The book is beautiful, for one thing. Plus, it provides all kinds of insight into the props and sets used in the film - so you can be quick to bring up the exact dimensions of the Millennium Falcon from one movie the the next in case it ever comes up. You'll see what I mean by watching the following video. It's a mini-documentary of sorts that was released along with the original limited edition version of the book:

The official description:

Meticulously researched and packed with gorgeous artwork and little-known details, Star Wars: The Blueprints tells the story of the brilliant minds and technical prowess that brought this extraordinary epic to life.
