New 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Footage Airing Before 'Coco'

Fans who want to see some footage of Star Wars: The Last Jedi ahead of its premiere in a few weeks can get their fill if they arrive early to a screening of Coco, now playing in theaters.

The Pixar movie airs a new installment of the pre-show feature called Noovie, which features behind-the-scenes footage of Mark Hamill and Rian Johnson on the set of the film. It also shows a clip with Chewbacca, Rey, and Luke Skywalker.

After Rey and Chewie track Luke down to the planet of Ahch-To, they attempt to convince him to return with them and help the Resistance in the fight against the First Order.

"We need your help," Rey tells him. But Luke's reply isn't exactly nice…

"You think I came to the most unfindable place in the galaxy to be disturbed?"

Tumblr user Star Wars Heroine uploaded a recording of the footage, but it doesn't play the entire scene out. It's unlikely that an HD version will be put anywhere online before the movie, because the incentive is to provide theater goers with a chance to see something exclusive ahead of the movie's release.

The footage provides fans with yet another look at this older, grumpier Luke Skywalker — a far cry from what Star Wars fans are used to seeing. It will be interesting to find out what made Luke into the cranky loner he is in the new Star Wars trilogy, and we're guessing it has something to do with Kylo Ren. Call it a hunch.

If you want to see the footage for yourself, you can check out Noovies before a screening of Coco at AMC, Regal, and Cinemark theaters, and 49 other smaller chains.

With Star Wars: The Last Jedi set to release in just a few short weeks, this is just another part in the promotional onslaught Disney is putting on for the film. While it's not likely to be the sole reason people go out to see Coco, it's a nice incentive to get to the theater early.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres December 15.
