The death of Han Solo was a recurring theme in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but his exciting young life could potentially steal the spotlight during college football's biggest game.

After Ron Howard replaced Phil Lord and Christopher Miller as director of Solo: A Star Wars Story, fans began to worry a bit about the future of the film. While the Han Solo origin movie still scheduled to be released on May 25, as planned, no one has seen anything about it.

There have been no official stills or any kind of trailer for a movie that is supposed to be released in just five months. However, when looking back at Disney's previous trailer releases, that could change in just a couple of weeks.

ESPN, which is owned by Disney, is airing the college football National Championship on January 8. Disney owns Lucasfilm and Marvel, and has been known to use big sporting events on ESPN and ABC to air trailers.

As far as the National Championship goes, Disney used the massive stage to air the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron back in 2015. The Marvel blockbuster was released on May 1 of that year.

So, if Disney is planning on releasing a trailer during the game on January 8, the Han Solo film would be one of four solid options. The Star Wars Story still needs a debut trailer, but Disney could also use the game to air new trailers for Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp or Incredibles 2. All four films are Disney properties, and they are all set to be released next summer.

Black Panther, which hits theaters in February, is another major opportunity to release one of these highly-anticipated trailers.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is being directed by Ron Howard, and stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke.
