The Walking Dead: How Will Rick Kill Negan?

WARNING: Major Spoilers Ahead For The Walking Dead Season Seven!!!

If you just watched the season seven premiere of The Walking Dead, you may not have recovered yet. The episode was the most brutal in the history of the series, and it struck emotional chords will audiences across the globe.

After Negan killed fan-favorite characters Glenn and Abraham, Rick told him that he would kill him. It wouldn't be today or tomorrow, but he would one day find a way to kill Negan.

After this spark of confidence, Negan took to breaking Rick's spirit in every way imaginable. While Rick is completely lost by the end of the episode, he's still a man of his word.

If Rick said he was going to kill Negan, you can rest assured that he will kill Negan.

The when can't exactly be answered, but we can begin to speculate as to how Rick will go about killing his new foe.

While Rick is completely changed and devastated by the events of this episode, he will still try and maintain his humanity. When he finally gets Negan to the point where he has to die, Rick will hang him.

Rick wants to keep the old world in tact, so a brutal murder just wouldn't suffice. If he kills Negan in a civilized manner, maybe even after giving him a trial, Rick will help humanity win over brutality.

Killing Negan isn't what will bring victory to Rick, it's letting society prevail over insanity.

All of this is well and good, but it's worth noting that Rick didn't kill Negan in the comics. At least, not yet.

Rick defeats Negan when they go to war, and is in a position to execute him in front of both of their communities. Instead, Rick takes Negan as a prisoner, and sentences him to a life in jail.

Negan has escaped in the most recent issues, but he is fighting a new enemy as a part of Rick's people. Rick still harbors hate for the man, but it doesn't look like he will be killing him any time soon.
