Though the Oceanside community would be anything but walking distance from the Hilltop in the world of The Walking Dead, geographically, the two fully realized sets are merely a few hundred feet apart on the 140-acre studio lot the film dominates in Senoia, Georgia. In other words, we haven't seen the last of it.

The time, money, and effort which has been poured into constructing these locations is what executive producer Tom Luse credits for their thorough upcoming use on the AMC series. While it's no secret the Hilltop will be featured in Season Eight of The Walking Dead, the Oceanside community might lay in wait a bit, but will ultimately make a return on one Sunday night.

"This is a society that does not want to be bothered," Luse said standing outside the very Oceanside cabin Tara was held hostage in during the The Walking Dead's seventh season. The fully realized location was not built for fun, Luse points out. When you build something as detailed and massive as the Oceanside or Hilltop locations, they're going to be used.

"We intend to use it," Luse said.

Still, Luse would not reveal when, exactly, Oceanside will return to The Walking Dead. Should the series return to following its comic book story line, the community might sit out the eighth season in its entirety, before resurfacing after the expected time jump between Season Eight and Season Nine.

The Walking Dead's sibling series Fear the Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 pm ET on AMC. The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017. The Season Eight premiere will mark 100 episodes overall for the popular AMC series. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
