Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead saw a menacing new Savior come and go following an ambush on King Ezekiel but his name wouldn't be revealed until Talking Dead recapped the show.

During Talking Dead, host Chris Hardwick revealed the character's name to be Gunther, portrayed by Whitmer Thomas. Gunther's time on The Walking Dead would be shortlived but the character had a major impact on King Ezekiel's future. The leader of the Kingdom was already broken down in the aftermath of his soldiers being slain by the Saviors only to be reminded of the guilt on his shoulders by Gunther.

"Illusions of grandeur," Gunther told Ezekiel of his acting as a king.

The Walking Dead fans had their way in response to Whitmer's character on the AMC series, many mocking his appearance with the glasses which emphasized his eyes atop an already massive and creepy smile.

Twitter users Ubstudios compares Gunther's look to the iconic horror character Jack Torrance in The Shining as portrayed by Jack Nicholson. Meanwhile, Regi sees more of a Jeffrey Dahmer resemblence, comparing Whitmer's character to the infamous 1980's serial killer.

Macey Walker was a bit lighter in her approach to comparing the Gunther character, claiming the only character with the name which truly matters in Gunther the penguin from Adventure Time.

And, move over Blake Shelton, because Sarah J. Crist names Gunther the Sexiest Man Alive.
