'The Walking Dead' Celebrates 100 Episodes With Cast Portraits

AMC's The Walking Dead is celebrating 100 episodes with its eighth season premiere in October, and a new batch of cast portraits from Entertainment Weekly see series leads Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Melissa McBride (Carol) looking extra tasty at their freshest and fanciest, rocking the apocalyptic chic look.

Look closely and you can spot the watch Maggie's father, Hershel (Scott Wilson) passed down to Glenn (Steven Yeun), Maggie's husband and father of her unborn child. Shiva, beloved tiger of the Kingdom's eccentric leader King Ezekiel (Khary Payton), lurks in the bushes, ready to pounce on any threatening Savior daring to disturb the festivities. When The Walking Dead returns, the series' core cast of survivors — belonging to the Alexandria, Hilltop, and Kingdom communities — won't be looking pretty: they'll be too busy waging war against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the extortionist Saviors, who have partnered with Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) and her reclusive group of trashy Scavengers.

As advertised in the recently released key art for season 8, it will be all out war when next we see our heroes — and not everyone will make it out okay, according to showrunner Scott M. Gimple, who teased some "big deaths" in the forthcoming season.

"Up until now, survival has been the focus of Rick and our group, but it's not enough," The Walking Dead Season 8 synopsis reads. "They have to fight to take back their freedom so that they can live. So that they can rebuild. As with any battle, there will be losses. Casualties. But with Rick leading the Alexandrian forces, Maggie leading the Hilltop, and King Ezekiel leading the Kingdom -- Negan and the Saviors' grip on this world may finally be coming to an end."

The Walking Dead returns Sunday, October 22 on AMC.
