New 'Stranger Things 2' Clip Shows How Eleven Escaped the Upside Down

Eleven is back from the Upside Down in a new clip from Stranger Things 2.

At the conclusion of Stranger Things' first season, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) used her powers to defeat the Demogorgon monster that had been hunting the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana and sacrificed herself in the process.

This clip reveals that Eleven did not die -- which was already known -- but was transported to the Upside Down. The clip shows her discovering a crack between the two worlds and climbing through to return to Hawkins.

The clip was revealed ahead of Comic Con London and was accompanied by a video introduction from Brown, who is English herself.

"Hello Comic Con London, this is Millie from Stranger Things," Brown says in the message. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there, but I can't wait for you to see Stranger Things Season Two when it arrives this October on Netflix. In the meantime, check out this never-before-seen clip the new season, and I hope you like it."

This clip raises some questions about the conclusion to the first season of Stranger Things. The end of the season showed Chief Hopper (David Harbour) leaving Eggo waffles in a cubby in the Mirkwood forest. Since Eggos are Eleven's favorite food, many took this to suggest that Eleven was alive and that Hopper knew about it, perhaps told by the mysterious man who picked Hopper up in the final episode.

So then what is Eleven doing in the Upside Down here? Perhaps these scenes aren't being shown in chronological order, or perhaps the Eggos were somehow meant to draw Eleven back from the Upside Down.

The other question is if Eleven survived that final battle and ended up in the Upside Down, is the Demogorgon really destroyed, or did it simply return to the Upside Down as well? Could the monster menace the town of Hawkins once more?

These questions and more will, presumably, be answered when Stranger Things 2 debuts on Netflix.

Stranger Things 2 will be available to stream in its entirety on October 27, 2017, on Netflix.
