[SPOILER] Returns on 'Supergirl'

The second episode of Supergirl's third season aired tonight and in addition to the team facing off with the psychic manipulator, Psi, the final moments of the episode marked the return of an important character -- and a hint of trouble to come.

In the final moments of tonight's episode, J'onn is having a drink alone at the alien bar when he thinks he hears someone calling his name. He turns to look, and when he looks back there is a gloved hand holding his. It's M'gann, in her Green Martian form telling J'onn that he must come to Mars. She then disappears leaving J'onn puzzled -- and concerned.

And J'onn may have valid reasons to be concerned. As revealed last season, M'gann is a White Martian and her people are responsible for the genocide of the Green Martians, including J'onn's family. However, M'gann is a fugitive of sorts having aided Green Martians and last season, her former mate, Armek, came to collect her with the intention of taking her back to Mars for execution. J'onn and the rest of the team are able to stop Armek, but M'gann decides that she needs to return to Mars in order to reform her people.

M'gann returns, briefly, during the season two finale with other, friendly White Martians to help combat the invading Daxamites before going back to Mars. McGann's return this time is troubling, however, as she is alone and it doesn't appear that she's truly there in person. It seems more like M'gann as reached out to J'onn telepathically and just the tone of her voice -- not to mention her telling him that he is needed immediately -- doesn't bode well for things on Mars.

As for what is prompting M'gann to reach out to J'onn, that remains a mystery. However, we do know that we will be seeing more Martians this season on Supergirl and not just more M'gann. J'onn's father, M'yrnn J'onnz is set to pay his long-lost son a visit and cause J'onn to realize just how being on Earth has changed him.
