Tonight's Riverdale has seen quite a few new revelations - including a new addition to the River Vixens.

Spoilers for tonight's episode of Riverdale, 'Chapter Fifteen: Nighthawks', below.

Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) prepared for River Vixens practice, where they were met with Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch). Cheryl then revealed that Josie (Ashleigh Murray) would be joining the squad, both as a way to boost its popularity and to hone in her dance moves. Cheryl then revealed that she would be continuing to be captain of the team, even though she stepped away at the end of last season.

This might not be the biggest revelation in the world of Riverdale - especially with The Black Hood running amok - but it does signify a new era for the group.

"So far, there hasn't been a bunch of cheerleading." Petsch pointed out in a recent interview with Teen Vogue. "It's been more about the big mystery of season one. Music will take the front scene, I think, this season."

Fans have already gotten a bit more music in tonight's episode, with Josie and the Pussycats set to perform 'Milkshake' in tonight's episode.

As Petsch explained, it will also mark an outlet for fans to see more of Josie and Cheryl's friendship.

"You see a lot more of Cheryl and Josie interacting. Josie actually becomes part of the River Vixens, so they interact a lot in that way." Petsch added. "You'll see a lot more of [Josie and Cheryl's] friendship. [She is] kind of the only person that Cheryl really has on her side."

Riverdale airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on The CW.
