Jeff Hardy Wants To Retire At WrestleMania Under Specific Circumstances

Jeff Hardy has a checkered history with the WWE. Back in 2003, they severed ties with Hardy for three years due to an apparent drug addiction. Hardy cleaned up his life and WWE had him on their roster once again three years later. It was another three years that Hardy left the company once again and made his way to TNA Wrestling afterwards. While Hardy shouldn't be defined by his past, he's made some odd independent appearances recently that have scared a few promotions off.

Hardy and his brother Matt have been wrestling since they were not even old enough to drink and at the age of 38, soon to be 39 next month, he's been talking about his exit plan from the world of professional wrestling. Already an accomplished artist and musician, Hardy would have more than a few backup plans, and if he were to score a WWE Legends type of deal, that would probably be even more ideal.

His last match of choice, though? A Hell In A Cell match with the Undertaker at WrestleMania.

"Man, I want to Swanton off the top of the cell, onto the commentary table," he told the LA Times. "Then, I want to climb the cell, cut the f-cking cage, when 'Taker's back in the ring, and Swanton through the cage, miss, and then Tombstone 1-2-3."

While a WWE return is likely down the road since WWE is forgiving with certain marketable talent and having Hardy end his career in the company that made him a star is rite on its own. However, it is very improbable of such a situation, especially with Taker, but those who might not remember, it was the ladder match with Taker in 2002 that cemented Hardy's ability to take on a singles career. Between Jim Ross' commentary and Taker's praise at the end holding Hardy's hand up, it was obvious Jeff was going to be a shining star.

Jeff's contract with TNA expires in February of next year and would be open to negotiations with WWE, but I wouldn't count on his dream match happening, unfortunately.
