Sasha Banks Addresses Critics Who Call Wrestling Fake

There seems to be confusion between the terms "wrestling is fake" and "wrestling is scripted", and it's the failure to recognize the difference that pits fans and non-fans against each other. If it's not your cup of tea there is nothing wrong with it, but just because something is scripted doesn't mean it's fake, and if you feel that way make sure to go up to a wrestler who puts their body through strain every day and say it.

You likely won't get a positive reaction, nor should you. Sports Illustrated recently spoke to WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks about the subject, and she expressed some frustration over those who write it off as fake without recognizing what they go through every night (via IWNerd).

"I think the biggest misconception is that — I don't know, that I guess people think it's fake. When it's not, I get beat up every single week, I go home with bruises, always banged up, but it's something that I love so much that I just I always keep pushing, it's what I love. People think that — I hate that, I hate that people think it's fake but if they got in the ring and they took a bump like we do every single week, legit travel like we travel every single week they would so appreciate every thing we did"

The outcomes are planned, as are the storylines, but the physical toll these people put on their body's is anything but fake. The numerous back, shoulder, knee, and neck surgieis that people like Tyson Kidd, Paige, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Finn Balor, and Seth Rollins have undergone aren't joking matters, and it's a bit disrespectful to push all that aside because it isn't an unplanned outcome.
