The Ravishing Russian may be dropping the Russian from her revamped SmackDown persona. It's been reported that Lana is essentially picking up the Emmalina gimmick that was abandoned when WWE officials felt Emma couldn't quite pull off the character after months of promos. Lana is picking up the torch of being the super hot girl who poses for photos and dances to the ring. I'm pretty sure that is the gist of the gimmick, but it's possible I may have missed a few of the more intricate subtleties.
Tuesday night we got a look at what we believe to be Lana's new ring gear and yesterday we found out a heartbreaking update on Lana and Rusev's WWE screen relationship. In preparations for her SmackDown wrestling debut, Lana has been working on her in-ring skills with NXT Live shows.
Last night, a twitter use posted what they believe to be Lana's new dancing gimmick to the ring from the NXT house show.

Clearly I know nothing about dancing, because that is not at all what I was expecting.
Before signing up with the WWE, Lana was a back-up dancer for performers such as Keri Hilson, Nelly, Pink, Usher, Akon, and Rich Boy. Also a singer, Lana was cast in Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2 and also in the all-female pop group, No Means Yes–which is the worst name for a female group, ever.
The WWE is reportedly wanting to have their women's division be a mix of in-ring athletic talent and some of the more traditional eye candy that they have always banked on. With Nikki Bella on hiatus, the hopes is that Lana can fill that role with her new persona. It's likely that she will debut as a heel with the eventual hope that the crowd comes around on her.
