Director Michael Bay was unable to quit the Transformers franchise like he planned after completing his first trilogy, instead being drawn back into the director's chair for Transformers: Age of Extinction. With the film behind him, Bay has again expressed his plans to walk away from the series, but the iconic voice of Optimus Prime would like Bay to stay.

Speaking to CinemaBlend, Peter Cullen, who has voice Optimus Prime since the original 1980s cartoon and continues to do so in the film series, tells CinemaBlend that he would like to see Bay return for Transformers 5.

"I have a great deal of respect for him. He generates a great deal of excitement and energy. He's really a hands-on director. My son is a stunt man and worked in Chicago doing a lot of the driving sequences...he said he's a very, very diligent, hands-on guy. He creates a great deal of energy and puts everybody on their toes. I would certainly miss him. I think he's brilliant, his mind is unbelievable…Michael if you're [reading] this, I certainly hope you are coming back."

Considering Age of Extinction brought in over $1 billion at the box office worldwide, I'm sure Cullen isn't the only one who would like to see Bay come back for more.

Transformers: Age of Extinction will be released on Blu-ray on September 30.
