During today's Cup O' Joe panel at New York Comic Con, Marvel Comics announced a new ongoing series starring Star Wars Rebels' cowboy Jedi, Kanan Jarrus.

Except this series will be going all the way back to Kanan's youth, when he still went by the name Caleb Dume. The opening story arc, "The Last Padawan," will be written by Star Wars Rebels writer/executive producer Greg Weisman, with art by Pepe Larraz.

The story sees young Caleb joining his Jedi Master, Depa Billaba, on the front line during the waning days of the Clone Wars. But, when Order 66 comes down, how does Caleb survive?

Star Wars: Kanan #1 will go on sale in April 2015. Come back tomorrow morning for our interview with Greg Weisman.
