Professional wrestlers sure love their comic book roles. Following the trend started by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jason Momoa, WWE wrestler Stephen "Sheamus" Farrelly wants to star in his own comic book movie.

His four-color film of choice? Spider-Man's tongue-slobbering nemesis, Venom. As comicbookmovie.com picked up this week, Farrelly expressed his desire to play the symbiote-powered villain to Irish Central.

"I always read comic books as a kid, I always remember Eddie Brock, who was Venom in the Spider-Man comics. He was kind of a red head," Farrelly said. "I'd love to play the role of Venom and Eddie Brock. Venom was one of my favorite characters. It would be a dream come true for me to star in the next Spider-Man film as Venom."

Calling Eddie Brock "kind of a red head" is a stretch, but Farrelly definitely has the build for the role. And, it just so happens that Sony is currently developing a Venom spinoff film. Perhaps Farrelly might want to start directing those desires towards Hollywood before the studio officially casts the role.

What do you think? Would you like to see Eddie Brock and Venom get some luck of the Irish?
