Disney has released the first piece of concept art for their upcoming live-action Jungle Book film, giving viewers the bare necessities (for now) of what the 2015 project will look like.
The image, which Disney released on their Twitter account today, details Mowgli walking through the jungle with his leopard friend, Bagheera. Bagheera will be voiced by Ben Kinglsey.
The Jon Favreau-directed film will bring the classic Disney cartoon, which is based on Rudyard Kipling’s short stories, to life. The film is described as a hybrid of live action and animation, with the film’s animal characters coming to life through computer animation in the post-production phase. The star-studded voice cast will feature Bill Murray as Baloo, Christopher Walken as King Louie, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, and Scarlett Johansson as Kaa. Mowgli, the film’s main character who is raised by the jungle’s animals, will be played by actor Neel Sethi.
Disney also released the first look at the film’s official logo on their Facebook page, which you can check out below.
The Jungle Book opens on October 9th, 2015.
