2015 Best Picture Academy Award Nominees Announced

The Academy has announced its nominees for Best Picture for the 2015 Academy Awards.

The award, which proclaims the previous year's overall best film—accounting for story, directing, acting, and more—is the ceremony's highest award. Of the dozens of films that Hollywood produced this year, only eight are nominated.

This year's nominees include:

Birdman:Or the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance
Boyhood
The Grand Budapest Hotel
The Imitation Game
Selma
The Theory of Everything
Whiplash

The winners will be revealed during the 2015 Academy Awards show on Sunday, February 22nd on ABC.
