David Tennant To Play Villain On Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones

Marvel has announced that actor David Tennant will play the villainous Killgrave on Netflix's AKA Jessica Jones series.

A Scottish actor best known for his stint as The Doctor on The BBC's Doctor Who series, Tennant is a popular choice amongst science fiction and genre fans. In AKA Jessica Jones, Killgrave is described as an "enignmatic figure from Jessica's past" who will rattle the superhero-turned-sleuth to her core.

Killgrave is also known as "The Purple Man" in the Marvel comics universe. He originally appeared as a nemesis for Daredevil and Luke Cage—two other characters set for a Netflix series—before becoming a major Jessica Jones antagonist in Brian Michael Bendis' Alias, the comic series from which AKA Jessica Jones is based on.
