Happy Birthday! Elizabeth Olsen Turns 26 Today

Today is actress Elizabeth Olsen's birthday.

The younger sister of acting and celebrity twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Elizabeth has emerged as a respected actor in her own right over recent years.

Olsen made her adult debut into Hollywood with the small, but critically-praised horror film, Silent House. She then moved onto a flurry of other films, including Red Lights (2012), Kill Your Darlings (2013) Oldboy (2013) and Godzilla (2014).

But Olsen's career is about to blow up in a major way. She will star in Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron as Wanda Maximoff, The Scarlet Witch (a role she teased in the stinger for 2014's Captain America:The Winter Soldier). With the ability to distort reality, Maximoff will join the Avengers with her brother Quicksilver.

The sequel is expected to outperform 2012's The Avengers, which earned over a billion at the box office, meaning that Olsen will receive plenty of exposure. And with plenty more Marvel Cinematic Universe films scheduled over the next five years, comic book film fans should get used to seeing her profile more often.

Elizabeth Olsen was born on February 16, 1989 in Los Angeles, California, and she turns 26 years old today.
