New Line Picks Up Distribution Rights & More For Batkid Documentary

New Line Cinema has acquired the distrubtion rights to the documentary Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard Around the World and narrative rights.

In 2013, the nation was riveted by the moving tale of Miles Scott, a boy that was stricken with cancer and with help from Make-a-Wish he was able to pretend he was Batman's sidekick for a series of events in San Francisco.

Julia Roberts ("Pretty Woman") has been developing a film project based on Batkid, which she plans on starring in. New Line purchased the rights to that project as well.

New Line will release the Batkid Begins documentary at some point this year.
