Yesterday, Hugh Jackman caught everyone off guard when he posted on his instagram account, "WOLVERINE ...ONE LAST TIME." Now, James Mangold, the director of The Wolverine and the upcoming third Wolverine solo film, has commented on Jackman's post.
Mangold's comments confirm that Jackman's message is related to his next Wolverine solo adventure and not X-Men: Apocalypse as some had speculated.
David James Kelly is writing the screenplay. Not much is known about the script. Jackman did reveal that some elements from the comics will be used, but he wouldn't specify any further. Since we know this will be Jackman's last Wolverine film it would makes sense if Mangold used elements from The Death Of Wolverine or Old Man Logan comic book storylines.
The next Wolverine solo film will begin filming in the beginning of 2016 and has been scheduled by 20th Century Fox to arrive in theaters March 3, 2017.
