Director James Gunn (Slither) says that we'll learn much more about Nebula (Karen Gillan), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Yondu (Michael Rooker) in the sequel to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
"I think that the characters of Gamora, Nebula and Yondu are some characters we get to know a little bit more in the way that we got to know some of the other characters in the first movie," Gunn said at the Avengers: Age Of Ultron premiere.
Gunn completed the story and is now preparing to turn that material into a script. Because he no longer has to worry about introducing so many in characters in one movie he can now have a "good time" letting them "play." It won't be all fun and games as he will dive deeper into who these characters are.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will arrive in theaters May 5, 2017.
