Actor Dick Van Patten Passes

Famed actor Dick Van Patten has passed away.

Van Patten was a respected and celebrated actor throughout his lengthy film and television career, appearing in beloved works like Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, Westworld, and Eight Is Enough. His comic book credits include appearances on the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman series, and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

Van Patten's publicist confirmed this morning that he had passed due to complications from diabetes. He was 86 years-old.

"He was the kindest man you could ever meet in life," Van Patten's representative, Jeff Ballard, told ABC News. "They don't make them like him anymore."
