In September of last year, before STARZ green lit the series, showrunner Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Heroes) strongly suggested American Gods creator Neil Gaiman would pen an episode or two. Now that the show has gotten the green light Fuller has confirmed Gaiman is a part of the writer's room.

"We are cranking away. We got the first two scripts written already and it is going to be really exciting," Fuller gushed on the red carpet of the 41st Saturn Awards. "It is wonderful to be working with Neil Gaiman and Neil Gaiman is going to be writing episodes of the show. So, it is going to have scope, as it should."

Listen to Fuller's comments in the video below.

"American Gods" tells the story of Moon, an ex-con who finds himself thrown into a unbelievable war between the gods of new and old. As biblical and mythological gods clash with a young league of new gods powered by media, money and vice, the fate of godhood hangs in the balance. The book has earned the Hugo, Nebula, and Bram Stoker Awards for Best Novel, and has been translated into more than 30 languages.
